Hospital Bag is Packed!
I guess it's time! Sunday was the 39 week mark, so I finally got my stuff together for the hospital!
I really think I have what I'll need here, but if you think of something Im missing, please don't hesitate to chime in.
IN THE BAG
- Cotton nightshirt and robe. Not really a necessity, but I remember last time after that first shower how nice it was to put on some of my own cozy clothes. I bought new ones from TJMaxx because I know how much use they will get in the next couple months.
- Socks and slippers. I know with my c-section, I was up walking the halls the next day, and although those skid-socks are cool and all, I prefer my own.
- Toiletries bag. (I bought this new from TjMaxx as well). Nice shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and soap can make all the difference. Face cleansing towels, lip balm and my own maxi-pads are also in there. The ones they give you in the hospital are huge! No thank you.
- Phone/charger, iPaddy-Pad and SLR camera. Because you KNOW I'm going to have a ton of pics, plus a video this time.
- Baby clothes/swaddler. I packed a couple white side snap shirts for our new little mexi-can and one sleeper. The aden + anias swaddlers that I used with Mateo are the best, so I'm bringing one of those too!
- Black licorice. Because I always want it.
Im so excited to see what is going to happen with my birth story. No birth plan here though, just an open mind. You know how I feel about planing. I am hoping for a vaginal birth (VBAC) this time. I am in no way committing to a drug free birth, but you never know how things will play out.
Boy or girl? Vaginal or c-section? Natural or drugs? Long labor or short? So much excitement coming our way.
Be sure to check the blog as we will post the announcement asap!

3D Ultrasound for Bebe #2
Happy Monday! Hope you guys had a great weekend. My parents flew in Saturday morning and we have been working non-stop in gardening and guys are putting up the fence. What a difference. Ill have some photos to share soon.
Last week Ernesto and I made an appointment at StorkVision in Buckhead for a 3D ultrasound for the little mexi-can #2. When we had one done for Mateo he was sleeping and in the wrong position for good shots so I thought let's forget it this time. Ernesto insisted that we go though so BOTH babies have this momento. Well, lo and behold, bebe #2 is camera shy as well and slept the entire time...with hands curled up in face. I drank a sweet juice, went outside and ran a lap, and did a handstand. The baby didn't stir. I hope this is indication of a good sleeper. It is what happened with Mateo and hes a great sleeper. Fingers crossed. We managed to get one decent [half] face shot, an ear, and a foot. No video worth sharing. Oh well. Even with just this little glimpse, I'm pretty convinced that we are going to have another gorgeous baby.
Just for kicks, let's take a look at both babies. Hmmm. Boy or girl? What do you predict??

A Belly Comparison & Ultrasound Pics
Although this pregnancy has been a walk in the park, just like my first, there has been one difference. While pregnant with Mateo, Ernesto and I were in a serious workout regime (Crossfit) and unfortunately, now my "workouts" consist of a walk in the park. Literally. (and...walking is not a workout in my book) Still, despite the lack of sweaty workouts, I feel really good, but probably a little more tired this time. Its not like "I need a nap" kind of tired, I sleep plenty. Just somethin' different.
I can blame it on the fact that Im running after a toddler or that Im 2 years older, but I know it is the lack of workouts. Last time, I worked out and was busy doing stuff all day... but then sat around with my feet up too and slept a ton. I don't remember being tired at all. More workouts = more energy. Period.
I have gained 16lbs so far which is right around where I was last time ....yet I feel heavier. Again, the workouts. Workout = eat what you want = feel slim. True.
For my week 25 belly shot, I wore the same outfit as I wore every week during my first pregnancy...just to see if there is a big difference in how I look. The pics are almost the same, but maybe my belly is a bit bigger??

Other similarities include this baby's liking to the Frank Breech position. Last week I had another ultrasound. Notice how the leg is straight up past the head in the pic below. Yes, that is also how Mateo positioned himself two weeks before he was due.
Luckily, at this point the baby's position is a non-issue. S/he weighs less than 3lbs and there is a lot of room for moving around. In fact just a minute later, the leg was not up there anymore.

This picture is cute. Look how the baby's mouth is open here.
Can't see it? Lean your head on your left shoulder and you will be looking at baby straight on. So cute.
We are going to get a 3D ultrasound too in a month or so. I would hate for this baby to not have a 3D pic when Mateo did. Everything must be fair and square from this point on. Isn't that how it goes when you have more than one kid? Haha! Yeah, right!
