San Diego Part II : Enjoying Sun and Surf

Oh San Diego, how we love you!
{la familia en Torrey Pines}
{breastfeeding on the bay}
{walking in Coronado Tidelands Park}
Yes, things do change when you have a baby, but I would not say it has slowed us down one bit ....Mateo's papi is good at that all by himself.  We still don't get out of the house until after noon each day...same as it ever was.

On a side note, I just read a not so good review in the NY Times about a new book called Bringing up Bebe.  It is written by an American woman who had her 3 kids in France and talks about the
different parenting culture there.  Based on this review, her observations don't seem that different than parenting in the U.S.  However, I do like this point:   Parents believe that the baby has to adjust to the parents schedule - not visa versa...and...well...I have always loved France!

  1. Based on my own limited experience, I agree that a child should and is perfectly able to adapt to it its parents' schedule/rhythm. This is not a question of discipline or authority (our way or the highway) but rather that a child might adapt best to a flow with the least turbulence, i.e. the one in which the parents are most comfortable. If the parents feel settled, regardless of their preferred rhythm, the child will, too.
